n this post, we will try and guide you through finding and fixing some indexing challenges using essential tools like Google Search Console and Screaming Frog.

Find and Fix Indexing Problems

Indexing issues might be a problem that could make your website invisible to the search engines negatively impact your sites SEO and performance. To make sure that all valuable content is indexed properly we highly recommend following these steps:

  1. Use Google Search Console:

    1. Index Coverage Report: The Index Coverage report in the Google search console is the best way to spot indexing problems. This report shows different URLs and explains why each issue might be happening. It points out things like server errors, redirection problems, and pages marked as "no-index."

    2. Fix Errors: Look at the index coverage report and tackle issues head-on. For example, if there are redirect errors, check your URL redirects to ensure they are correctly configured.

  2. Double-Check with Screaming Frog:

    1. Site Crawl: Use the screaming frog free SEO crawler to copy Google crawls on your domain. Screaming frog makes it easier to find information about web pages that might be missing. Screaming Frog can spot broken links, server errors, duplicate content, and many other problems. Its super handy for exploring the web.

    2. Resolve Issues: After the screaming frog completed the crawl, you have to first browse through the results of the report in order to find and solve potential issues. It is important that all of your navigation are working and properly connected.

  3. Verify Fixes:

    1. Re-Submit to Google: In the situations when the indexing is the issue, you can also re-submit your site to Google for indexing via the Google search console. This process only serves as the way of informing Google about the URL of your freshly re-crawled and indexed pages.

    2. Monitor Indexing Status: Check your indexation levels in the Google search console to find and address any problems asap. For Google access and indexation of all the expected pages, it was, without a doubt, one of the high-priority actions you can take for the site to maintain its search engine optimization (SEO) health.
